Welcome to my Blog.

I am a 46 year old NY Jewish woman living in Maine since 1987.

I live in central Maine with my husband, his 17 year old son and our dog.

I started this blog because I felt the need to rant sometimes about a variety of topics that either interest me or frustrate me.

The first of those just has to do with the fact that there are so few Jews in Maine. When I came here I did meet some in the Portland area...but no men and when I did get married it was to a non-demoninational christian man. At 23 I did not realize that having a jewish husband would be important to me. And after he divorced me 15 years late, I guess I still didn't get the messege, because my current husband (we just passed our 5th anniversary) is not jewish either..yet.

On the eve of our 5th anniversary he announced to me that he wanted to be jewish!! And he is also in a doctoral program..so I will have what every jewish mother wants for her daughter. To have a jewish doctor for a husband.

My parents were very happy at the news. For me this means that I am in full wedding mode, because I get to have a new wedding. We have to be married jewishly.

So in the following days and weeks I will be writing on these general topics. I have not shown my name or other identifying information, because I just want to be able to rant publically.
